Urgent Versus Important

There are things that you have incorporated into your work day that you can straight up stop doing; maybe forever, maybe for a season. Not everything that you do provides you with a return on investment, and spending time on tasks that are urgent but not important is not a recipe for success. If you stay in the urgent-but-not-important zone, you will continue to put out fires and check staff off your to-do list, and you’ll always feel busy, but you’re never going to move forward or see growth. If you’re feeling totally overwhelmed, you’re probably spending too much time in this zone, letting other people drive the boat, and reacting to what is going on around you, rather than being in control.

Creating Time for Growth

Early on in our business we developed a block schedule where we had a day that nobody else could touch, and to us, that was a massive building block for us to start working towards the business we truly wanted. Now, approximately half of our time is spent on growth-based activities, compared to the early days where we have around 95% of our time away. Clawing your way out of the phase where you’re sacrificing most of your time to deal with urgent tasks, isn’t easy, but we have a few suggestions which will help you on your way. For example, changing your office hours, creating canned email responses, and setting up some automated systems. We want you (with our help) to find a minimum of four hours a week that you can spend on self-development, so that you and your business can thrive, because at the end of the day, if you don’t make yourself a priority, nobody will!

What To Do If You’re Struggling To Find Leads
