The Purpose Of “Money Milestones” And How They Can Keep You Motivated

Financial freedom is all about choice. When you can choose how to spend your money and when, without worrying about the implications, you are financially free, and that freedom of choice can continuously expand as your business grows. For us, an example of a very tangible milestone was when we reached the point where we could order take-outs any night of the week and we knew it wasn’t going to negatively affect us. Financial freedom looks different for everyone, and there are so many micro-steps along the journey that, if you recognize and acknowledge them, can make you feel confident that you are heading in the right direction and therefore keep you inspired to continue!

Looking Back On Your History With Money

Your upbringing and life experiences have a huge impact on the way you deal with money, and sometimes this can become a completely subconscious practice. If you don’t address these from a conscious perspective, you’re unlikely to be able to change the trajectory of your life. If you really take the time to think about how far you’ve come from where you started, you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised at the seemingly simple things which are actual proof that you’re making huge strides on your journey! Give yourself some credit; any improvement is progress! When we look back and reflect on our lives, some of the things that have signaled to us that we’re on track to reaching our financial freedom goals include ordering appetizers and desserts at restaurants, and when the dollar-spot at Target became less appealing! You’ll hear about where we were 10 years ago in comparison to where we are now, and we’re hoping that our stories keep you motivated, because if we did it, you can too!

The Benefits Of Having Financial Freedom

Financial freedom provides time freedom, freedom of choice of where you live, what you buy, what you eat, even freedom of health. When you’re setting goals, set them for a few months, rather than a few years. Find something that you can tie a bit of freedom to, that is massively motivating to you. It is so important that the people in your life support your big goals, and at the same time it’s also important to have the small goals which are totally you-focused, and that nobody else even really needs to know about. The bottom line is that you need to make your money work for you, not the other way around!

The 3 Things You Need To Do Before You Can Create Your Financial Freedom Game Plan

Before you start working on your financial freedom game plan, you need to create a sense of gratitude and appreciation for where you’ve come from, be willing to reframe the way you look at what other people have (the only thing you should be focusing on is your own journey, not the journey that anybody else is on), and start to think about the small goals that have the ability to snowball into a whole new life without you even realizing!

Quote This

Financial freedom is the freedom of choice, for you to have the ability to choose how you spend your money and when, and that choice gets to expand over time.
